About This Style

Vintage rugs are defined by an antique or aged aesthetic, often featuring faded tones, abrash-like colour variation, and worn-look surface treatments that reference mid-20th-century Anatolian hand-weaving. Floral vintage rugs utilise botanical motifs, ranging from dense, scrolled all-over fields to repeated rose-bouquet patterns on cream grounds. These designs often incorporate a distressed surface treatment, where original patterns are obscured by an overdyed finish, revealing ghost-like traces of the underlying structure.

Where It Works

The flatwoven construction makes this rug suitable for high-traffic areas such as hallways, entryways, and kitchens. Its low-profile nature is ideal for layering over larger carpets or placement in rooms with underfloor heating.
