Privacy Policy
Last updated 27 September 2026
BazaarSpot ("BazaarSpot", "we", "us") operates the shopping hub at bazaarspot.net, where you can discover shops and items, favorite brands, bookmark products, and curate collections. This policy explains what we collect, why we collect it, and what control you have over it.
1. Information you give us
- Account details — your name, username, email address, password (stored only as a salted hash), and, if you add them, a profile photo, bio, country, and language.
- Contact and delivery details — phone number and address (country, city, street, building, floor, unit) when you save them to your account.
- Content you create — collections, bookmarks, favorites, reviews and ratings, comments, mentions of other users, group membership, and anything you share with specific people or with the community.
- Connected accounts — handles or links for social and messaging accounts (such as WhatsApp, Instagram, or Facebook) that you add to your profile or to a shop you manage.
- Merchant information — if you claim or onboard a shop, the business, catalog, and contact details you submit, plus any credentials or tokens needed for a store integration you authorize. When you connect a Shopify or WooCommerce store, we also read its product catalog (products, variants, prices, stock, images, and collections) and basic shop details such as its name and logo.
- Messages to us — support requests, shop listing requests, invitations you send, and reports, along with whatever you include in them.
2. Information we collect automatically
- Usage and activity data — pages you view, items and shops you open, searches you run, sections and recommendations shown to you, and what you click. This is what powers discovery and recommendations, and how we tell whether a feature works.
- Visitor and session identifiers — a random visitor ID and session ID generated in your browser and kept in its local storage. They are not derived from your name, email, or a device fingerprint. If you are signed in, activity recorded under them can be associated with your account.
- Outbound clicks — when you follow a link from BazaarSpot to a shop's own website, the click passes through our redirect service, which records the item or shop you clicked, the page and section it came from, and your visitor and session IDs. This is how shops and we know which listings send traffic. We do not follow you onto the shop's site.
- Purchase confirmations — when you use Instant Checkout with a shop connected to BazaarSpot (for example through our Shopify app or WooCommerce plugin), the shop tells us when the order is placed: the order number, time, currency, items, quantities, and amounts. We use this to confirm the purchase and to report sales to the shop. We do not store your name, email, phone, or address from these reports, even where the shop's report includes them.
- Device and connection data — IP address, browser and device type, operating system, language, referring page, and timestamps. Our hosting and security providers log this to serve pages and block abuse.
3. How we use your information
- Run the service: accounts, sign-in, favorites, bookmarks, collections, groups, sharing.
- Personalize what you see — feeds, recommendations, and search results.
- Measure and improve the product, and report aggregate performance to shops.
- Send service messages (email verification, password resets, security and account notices) and, where you opted in or the law allows, product updates you can unsubscribe from at any time.
- Keep BazaarSpot safe: prevent fraud, spam, scraping, and abuse, and enforce our Terms of Service .
- Meet legal, tax, and regulatory obligations.
4. Cookies and browser storage
We use cookies and browser storage for things the site cannot work without: keeping you signed in, remembering your theme, country and language, holding your cart, and storing the visitor and session IDs described above. Our analytics is first-party — it runs on our own domain, and we do not load third-party advertising or cross-site tracking networks.
You can clear or block cookies and local storage in your browser settings. If you do, sign-in and anything personalized to you will stop working properly.
5. What other people can see
Your username, profile photo, bio, and your public collections, reviews, comments, and group activity are visible to other users and, unless the site is in invite-only mode, to anyone on the internet and to search engines. Collections you keep private are visible only to you; collections you share with specific people are visible to those people. Your email address, phone number, and saved addresses are never shown publicly.
Public content may be cached or indexed elsewhere. Deleting it on BazaarSpot removes it from our site, but we cannot remove copies held by others.
6. Sharing your information
We do not sell your personal data, and we do not share it with advertisers for cross-site targeting. We share it only:
- With shops and merchants — in aggregate, as counts of views and clicks on their listings. They do not get your name, email, or contact details unless you contact them yourself or use a feature that says it will pass them on.
- With the shop you check out with — when you use Instant Checkout, we pass your name, email, phone number, and delivery address to that shop's checkout so it is filled in for you.
- With service providers — hosting, content delivery and security, email delivery, error monitoring, and analytics infrastructure we operate or contract. They may process your data only on our instructions.
- For legal reasons — to comply with the law or a valid legal request, or where necessary to protect our rights, our users, or the public from harm.
- In a business transfer — if BazaarSpot is reorganized, merged, or acquired, your data may move with the service. We will tell you if a different privacy policy will apply.
7. Leaving BazaarSpot for a shop's site
BazaarSpot links out to third-party shops. Once you land on their site you are on their property: their privacy policy, cookies, and terms apply, and we have no control over and no responsibility for what they collect or how they use it. Purchases made there are between you and that shop.
8. How long we keep it
We keep account data for as long as your account exists. If you delete your account, we delete or anonymize your personal data within a reasonable period, except where we must keep records for legal, tax, security, or dispute-resolution reasons. Activity data is retained in aggregated or de-identified form after that point. Public content you posted may remain visible where other people have saved or reshared it in their own collections.
If a shop uninstalls our Shopify app or disconnects its store, we delete the store's access token right away and stop receiving updates from it. To have a connected store's data deleted, write to [email protected].
9. Your choices and rights
- Review and edit your profile, addresses, and connected accounts in your settings.
- Make a collection private, or delete collections, bookmarks, reviews, and comments.
- Unsubscribe from marketing email using the link in any such email.
- Request a copy of your data, correction of inaccurate data, deletion of your account, or that we restrict certain processing. Depending on where you live, you may also have the right to object to processing, to data portability, and to complain to your local data protection authority.
Write to [email protected]. We may need to verify your identity first, and we will respond within the time applicable law allows.
10. Children
BazaarSpot is not intended for children under 16, and we do not knowingly collect their personal data. If you believe a child has given us personal data, write to us and we will delete the account and its data.
11. Security and international transfers
We protect your data with encryption in transit, hashed passwords, access controls, and regular review of our systems. No service can promise perfect security, so use a strong, unique password and tell us immediately if you think your account has been compromised.
We and our providers may store and process data in countries other than yours. Where we transfer personal data across borders we use the safeguards applicable law requires.
12. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as the product changes. We will update the date at the top and, for significant changes, notify you in the app or by email. Continuing to use BazaarSpot after a change means you accept the updated policy.
