About This Style

Vintage rugs are designed to evoke an antique aesthetic, often utilising faded tones, abrash colour variation, and worn-look surface treatments to reflect 20th-century Anatolian hand-weaving traditions. Distressed rugs feature a surface treatment where selectively faded zones or erased pile areas reveal the base structure, often achieved through an overdyed process that leaves ghost traces of the original pattern. Medallion rugs are defined by a central circular, oval, or diamond-shaped motif, which serves as the anchor for the composition and is typically framed by a structurally distinct border.

Where It Works

The flatweave construction allows this rug to lie flush against the floor, making it highly functional for high-traffic areas such as hallways, entryways, and kitchens. Its low profile is suitable for placement over floor-mounted heating systems and serves as an ideal base for layering in larger living areas or dining rooms.

Why Choose This Rug?

• — Features a prominent central medallion motif with a distressed, overdyed finish that highlights the brown colour palette.
• — Constructed from a cotton and polyester blend; cotton provides essential breathability, while polyester ensures long-term durability and moisture resistance.
• — The flatwoven construction creates a no-pile surface that is easy to maintain and resistant to shedding.
• — These rugs reference the Anatolian hand-weaving tradition; each piece is one-of-a-kind, with minor variations in colour and pattern that are characteristic of vintage-style production.
• — Engineered for high-traffic durability and compatibility with underfloor heating, providing a stable, low-profile foundation.
