About This Style

Vintage rugs are designed to evoke an antique aesthetic, often featuring faded tones, abrash colour variation, and worn-look surface treatments. Distressed rugs utilise specific surface techniques to mimic age, such as erased pile areas that reveal the base structure or overdyeing, where a rug is submerged in a saturated colour bath to leave ghost traces of the original pattern. Medallion rugs are defined by a central circular, oval, or diamond-shaped motif, a hallmark of classical Anatolian design that anchors the overall composition within a distinct border.

Where It Works

The flatwoven construction ensures this rug lies flush against the floor, making it suitable for high-traffic areas such as hallways, entryways, and kitchens. Its thin profile allows for easy layering over larger rugs or carpets, and it is fully compatible with underfloor heating systems.

Why Choose This Rug?

• — Features a prominent central medallion motif rendered in a stylistic, geometric fashion consistent with mid-century Anatolian design.
• — Constructed from a durable cotton and polyester blend, where cotton provides natural breathability and polyester adds moisture resistance for everyday use.
• — Designed with a flatwoven construction and no pile, ensuring the piece remains stable underfoot and is highly resistant to shedding.
• — These rugs reference the Anatolian hand-weaving tradition; each piece is one-of-a-kind, with minor variations in colour and pattern that are characteristic of vintage-style production.
• — Highly functional for high-traffic environments, hallways, and areas requiring a low-clearance door swing or underfloor heating compatibility.
