Yellow Trumpet Tree, Tabebuia Flowering Tree

Tabebuia caraiba brings more than spring flowers to your yard. Known as the Silver Trumpet Tree, it has green leaves covered with silvery scales on both sides and deeply furrowed, silvery bark. Those details give you two reasons to choose this tree beyond its blooms: distinctive foliage and a textured trunk to enjoy outside the flowering season.

Additional Details

Also called Tabebuia aurea, this evergreen tree reaches 15 to 25 feet tall, making it an option when you’re looking for a small landscape tree. Its palmately compound leaves have five or seven leaflets. Golden-yellow, trumpet-shaped flowers arrive in spring, giving caraiba another familiar name: yellow trumpet tree.

Other Uses

The flowers attract bees, hummingbirds, and other pollinators, so caraiba can help you bring wildlife into your garden. It also provides wildlife habitat, serves as a honey tree for beekeepers, and works as a street tree or landscape specimen, combining ornamental appeal with useful roles in your planting.
