Plant Wabash® Pawpaw with at least one other pawpaw variety nearby and design the space like a small native fruit grove, using a generous mulch ring beneath the trees and low woodland-style companions around the edges; the mulch helps protect the root zone, the understory gives the planting a finished woodland feel, and the second pawpaw gives pollination the backup it needs, because even a truly excellent pawpaw still appreciates a partner in the dance.
