About This Style

Vintage rugs are designed to evoke an antique aesthetic, often featuring faded tones, abrash colour variations, and distressed surface treatments. These pieces frequently incorporate a central medallion motif or dense floral patterns, reflecting the mid-20th-century Anatolian tradition where small village workshops utilised regional designs. Overdyeing processes often leave a ghost-pattern, where the original motifs remain visible beneath a saturated colour wash, creating a distinct, aged character.

Where It Works

The flatweave construction allows this rug to lie completely level, making it suitable for high-traffic areas such as hallways, kitchens, and entryways. It is compatible with underfloor heating systems and serves as an effective base for layering in larger living areas or dining rooms.

Why Choose This Rug?

• — These rugs reference the Anatolian hand-weaving tradition; each piece is one-of-a-kind, with minor variations in colour and pattern that are characteristic of vintage-style production.
• — Engineered for high-traffic utility, this piece is fully compatible with underfloor heating and functions well as a foundational layer in multi-rug arrangements.
