Vegvisir Nordic Icelandic Compass Tattoo Design

Vegvísir is a compound word consisting of 2 Old Norse words, "Vegʀ" and "Vísa", closely equivalent to "path pointer".  In an 1880 saga it is stated "If this sign is carried, one will never lose one’s way in storms or bad weather, even when the way is not known."
