About This Style

Vintage rugs are defined by an aged aesthetic, often featuring faded tones, abrash colour variation, or worn-look surface treatments that evoke mid-20th-century Anatolian hand-weaving traditions. These pieces frequently incorporate floral motifs, ranging from dense botanical fields to stylised repeats, reflecting both Ottoman design vocabulary and regional 20th-century craftsmanship. Distressing is a key characteristic, resulting from decades of use or intentional overdyeing, which creates a ghost-pattern effect where original motifs remain visible beneath a saturated wash.

Where It Works

The flatwoven construction ensures this rug lies flat against the floor, making it highly suitable for high-traffic areas such as hallways, entryways, and kitchens. Its low-profile design is compatible with underfloor heating and allows for seamless layering over larger floor coverings.
