About This Style

Vintage rugs are designed to evoke an antique aesthetic, often featuring faded tones, abrash colour variation, or worn-look surface treatments. Distressed rugs utilise overdyed finishes, where the original piece is submerged in a single-colour bath to create a ghost-pattern effect that reveals the base structure. Medallion rugs are defined by a dominant central motif, typically circular or geometric in form, framed by a structurally distinct border characteristic of classical Anatolian and Persian carpet design.

Where It Works

The flatwoven construction allows this rug to lie flat against the floor, making it ideal for high-traffic areas such as hallways, entryways, and kitchens. Its thin profile is compatible with underfloor heating and is suitable for layering over larger carpets.

Why Choose This Rug?

• — Features a prominent central medallion motif with a distressed, overdyed grey and brown finish that highlights the original 70s craftsmanship.
• — Constructed from a cotton and polyester blend, where cotton provides natural breathability and polyester ensures long-term durability and moisture resistance.
• — Designed with a no-pile, flatwoven construction that resists shedding and remains stable in high-traffic zones.
• — These rugs reference the Anatolian hand-weaving tradition; each piece is one-of-a-kind, with minor variations in colour and pattern that are characteristic of vintage-style production.
• — Engineered for modern utility, it is safe for underfloor heating and functions well as a layering piece in any room.
