About This Style

Vintage rugs are defined by an aged aesthetic, often utilising faded tones, abrash colour variation, and distressed surface treatments to evoke mid-20th-century Anatolian hand-weaving traditions. Distressing is frequently achieved through an overdyed finish, where a saturated colour bath is applied to reveal ghost traces of the original pattern beneath. A medallion rug features a dominant central motif, such as a circular or diamond shape, which anchors the composition and is typically framed by a structurally distinct border.

Where It Works

The flatwoven construction allows this rug to lie completely flush against the floor, making it highly suitable for high-traffic areas like hallways, kitchens, and dining rooms. Its thin profile is ideal for layering over larger rugs or low-clearance doorways and is fully compatible with underfloor heating systems.

Why Choose This Rug?

• — Features a prominent central medallion motif rendered in a contemporary turquoise palette with authentic ghost-pattern effects.
• — Constructed from a cotton and polyester blend; cotton provides essential breathability, while polyester ensures high durability and moisture resistance.
• — Flatwoven construction ensures a no-pile surface that is resistant to shedding and easy to maintain in active households.
• — These rugs reference the Anatolian hand-weaving tradition; each piece is one-of-a-kind, with minor variations in colour and pattern that are characteristic of vintage-style production.
• — Designed for longevity, the high-traffic durable surface is safe for underfloor heating and performs well in frequently used living zones.
