Trema - Vintage Distressed Rug - 5'2 X 9'3

This hand-woven, one-of-a-kind piece celebrates Anatolian heritage through a flatwoven construction, featuring a faded patina, abrash detail, and overdyed finish. With its low-pile, no-shed, high-traffic durable, layering-friendly, underfloor-heating safe, reversible weave, soft-touch, distressed character, ghost-pattern, 70s craftsmanship, cotton-polyester blend, single-piece artisanal, and sun-bleached tones, it captures a distinct vintage aesthetic.

About This Style

Vintage rugs are defined by an aged aesthetic, often utilising surface treatments to mimic the wear of mid-20th-century Anatolian pieces. Distressed characteristics include abrash colour variation and erased pile that exposes the base, frequently enhanced by overdying to create a ghost-pattern effect. Medallion motifs serve as the primary compositional anchor, typically rendered in geometric or stylised forms that reflect regional craft traditions.

Where It Works

The flatweave construction allows this rug to lie flush against the floor, making it highly suitable for high-traffic areas such as hallways, kitchens, and dining rooms. Its thin profile is ideal for layering over larger carpets or placement in spaces with underfloor heating.

Why Choose This Rug?

• — The flatwoven construction ensures a no-pile surface that is easy to maintain, does not shed, and remains stable in high-traffic zones.
• — These rugs reference the Anatolian hand-weaving tradition; each piece is one-of-a-kind, with minor variations in colour and pattern that are characteristic of vintage-style production.
• — Designed for versatility, this rug is compatible with underfloor heating and functions effectively as a layering piece in various interior configurations.
