About This Style

Vintage rugs are defined by an aged aesthetic, often featuring faded tones, abrash colour variation, and distressed surface treatments that mimic decades of use. Many of these pieces incorporate a central medallion motif, a hallmark of classical Anatolian design, which is frequently rendered in geometric forms rather than curvilinear patterns. Distressing often results from an overdying process where the original rug is submerged in a saturated bath, leaving a ghost-pattern of the underlying motif visible beneath the wash.

Where It Works

The flatweave construction allows this rug to lie perfectly flat, making it an ideal choice for high-traffic areas such as hallways, entryways, and kitchens. Its profile is compatible with underfloor heating systems and is highly effective for layering over larger carpets.

Why Choose This Rug?

• — Features a prominent central medallion motif with a distressed, overdyed finish that highlights the original pattern as a ghost-pattern.
• — Constructed from a cotton and polyester blend; cotton provides natural breathability, while polyester ensures longevity and moisture resistance.
• — The no-pile, flatwoven construction lies flush with the floor, preventing tripping hazards and remaining stable in high-traffic zones.
• — These rugs reference the Anatolian hand-weaving tradition; each piece is one-of-a-kind, with minor variations in colour and pattern that are characteristic of vintage-style production.
• — Compatible with underfloor heating and suitable for layering, offering a versatile solution for diverse interior environments.
