About This Style

Vintage rugs evoke an aged aesthetic often derived from mid-20th-century Anatolian hand-weaving traditions, where small village workshops utilised regional motifs. Distressed surface treatments, such as abrash colour variation and selective fading, are often achieved through an overdyed finish that leaves a ghost-pattern of the original design visible. Medallion motifs serve as a dominant central anchor, typically rendered in geometric forms and framed by structurally distinct borders.

Where It Works

The flatweave construction allows this rug to lie flat, making it ideal for high-traffic areas such as hallways, entryways, and kitchens. Its low profile is compatible with underfloor heating systems and serves as an effective base for layering in larger living areas.
