Tahoan - Vintage Distressed Rug - 4'11 X 8'11

This hand-woven, one-of-a-kind rug reflects Anatolian heritage through its flatwoven construction, faded patina, and abrash detail. Featuring an overdyed finish, low-pile no-shed profile, and high-traffic durable build, it is layering-friendly and underfloor-heating safe. The reversible weave offers a soft-touch, distressed character, ghost-pattern, 70s craftsmanship, cotton-polyester blend, single-piece artisanal quality, and sun-bleached tones.

About This Style

Vintage rugs are defined by an aged aesthetic, often featuring faded tones and colour variations known as abrash. Distressed vintage pieces undergo surface treatments or overdyeing, which leaves a ghost-pattern of the original weave visible beneath a saturated wash. Medallion rugs are anchored by a central circular, oval, or diamond-shaped motif, a hallmark of classical Anatolian design, typically framed by a distinct border.

Where It Works

The flatweave construction allows this rug to lie perfectly flat, making it suitable for high-traffic areas such as hallways, entryways, and kitchens. It is compatible with underfloor heating systems and serves as an effective base for layering in living rooms or dining areas.
