Plant Sunflower Pawpaw with at least one other pawpaw variety nearby and design the space like a small native fruit grove, using a wide mulch ring beneath the trees and low woodland-style companions around the edges; the mulch protects the root zone, the understory softens the bold foliage, and the second pawpaw helps make fruit set more dependable, because even a variety named Sunflower appreciates a little backup chorus.
