About This Style

Vintage rugs are defined by their aged aesthetic, frequently featuring faded colour tones, abrash-like variation, or intentional surface distressing. These pieces often reference the mid-20th-century Anatolian hand-weaving tradition, where items were produced in village workshops using regional floral motifs. Distressing may include erased pile areas that reveal the base structure or the results of an overdyed finish, where original patterns appear as ghost-traces beneath a saturated wash.

Where It Works

The flatwoven construction of this rug allows it to lie flush against the floor, making it highly suitable for high-traffic areas such as hallways, entryways, and kitchens. Its profile is also ideal for layering over larger carpets or placement in rooms equipped with underfloor heating.
