Stewartia pseudocamellia 'Pillar Bella'
Columar Japanese Stewartia

Zones 4-8

Stewartia pseudocamellia ‘Pillar Bella’ is a beautiful, narrow, upright form of Japanese stewartia, making it a great choice for a smaller space. It produces lovely white, camellia-like flowers in summer, followed by attractive fall color, and develops exfoliating bark as it matures. At about 10 years, you can expect it to reach approximately 10–15 ft tall and 4–6 ft wide, depending on growing conditions. It prefers well-drained, organically rich soil and does best with good morning sun and some afternoon protection, especially in warmer areas. Its narrow growth habit makes it a nice option when you want a stewartia without a large, spreading canopy.
