Review

This is a sweet Tonka Bean scent. The Ginger brings a bright and zingy opening, but things dive into the sweetness very quickly after. Iris Butter adds a creamy quality to a blend of Vanilla Extract, Tonka Bean Absolute and Roasted Tonka Bean Absolute. Cinnamon adds a faint hint of itself and Sandalwood brings its naturally creamy woodiness to the base of the scent. Benzoin adds a hint of a resinous sweetness that brings just a touch of warmth. Something about the Tonka Bean, Vanilla and Sandalwood blend creates an almost Almond-like essence within the mix. It has a gentle Gourmand Vibe to it, but also a warm, comforting, slightly sensual essence that makes you want to cuddle up with someone, It kind of has a vibe like the aftermath of baking…..something along the lines of, you’ve just baked a batch of cookies, you’ve cleaned up and put everything away, you’re finally sitting down to relax and there is a Vanilla leaning sweetness that lingers in the air. It is a scent that you can wear any time, place or occasion, and is easily dressed up or down. It can be worn in any season, and while it will slowly become more intimate on the skin as it dries, its Absolue concentration will last on the skin. It has been compared to “Commodity Milk and…”, and has a similar vibe to Velvet Tonka from BDK Parfums. 

Inspiration

Stellar Silk was inspired by the delicate and soft luxuriousness of Silk fabrics. It pays homage to the fluidity and soft caresses against the skin.

Notes

Ginger opens this scent with a fleeting zingy spiciness before diving into a sweet and creamy blend of Iris Butter, Vanilla Extract, Tonka Bean Absolute and Roasted Tonka Bean Absolute. Cinnamon brings just a faint hint of itself, but if you love Cinnamon in fragrance, you’ll be able to detect it. Sandalwood comes in at the base, adding its own, naturally sweet/creamy woodiness that blends perfectly while adding a touch of earthiness. Resinous Benzoin is soft in this composition, adding warmth and depth that keeps the light sweetness lasting.
