Star Trac 8 Series Upright Bike

The guesswork problem

Manual resistance leaves riders guessing at their own intensity

Most upright bikes hand resistance control entirely to the rider, which means members either undershoot their target heart rate zone or overdo it, then spend the ride making small manual adjustments instead of actually working out. That constant fiddling breaks focus right when a rider should be settling into a rhythm.

The Star Trac 8UB Upright Bike removes that guesswork with Dynamic Heart Rate Control, automatically adjusting resistance in real time to keep riders in their target zone for smarter interval and heart zone training. A Morse Taper bottom bracket and pedal system, a step up from the standard ISIS mounting on Star Trac's 4 and 6 Series bikes, is built for stability under heavy daily use across full-service gyms and busy wellness centers alike.

Dual-platform pedals with removable ratcheting straps offer both a secure pedal-in option and an easy platform option, so riders can choose whichever fits their footwear and comfort level, without the facility needing to stock two different bikes to cover both preferences.

The command center

Everything a rider needs, within easy reach

Both console tiers run on the OpenHub ecosystem with over-the-air updates, so the bike stays current without ever needing to be replaced just to add new features.

What dealers say

Built for lasting results in high-traffic facilities

"Deliver dependable workouts and superior comfort with the Star Trac 8 Series Upright Bike, the go-to choice for lasting results."

Authorized Star Trac Dealer

Star Trac's own 6UB and 4UB upright bikes cost less and cover reliable, manual resistance cycling well. Neither offers Dynamic Heart Rate Control, so riders on those bikes are still doing the intensity math themselves. The 8UB adds that automation along with the heavier-duty Morse Taper bracket, a genuine step up for facilities running structured heart zone programs rather than casual cardio alone.
