The placement problem

Most ellipticals need to live near an outlet. This one doesn't care where you put it

A lot of home ellipticals still need a wall outlet within cord's reach, which quietly decides where the machine ends up, whether or not that's actually the best spot in the room.

The Spirit Fitness XE795 Elliptical Trainer runs entirely on its own generator, producing the power it needs as you move. There is no cord to route and no outlet to plan around, so it can go in a garage, basement, or sunroom exactly as easily as a finished home gym.

A 30 lb flywheel and 40 levels of magnetic resistance ride on a dual aluminum rail system with sealed roller bearings, keeping the 20 inch stride smooth and quiet at any setting.

More programs, less plugging in

A console built to match its power source

Programs and tracking: the 7.5 inch multi-color backlit LCD runs 16 built-in programs, more than most machines in this class, spanning manual, hill, fat burn, interval, and 4 heart rate guided modes, plus 2 custom user profiles. Direct resistance buttons jump straight to a level instead of clicking through all 40 one at a time.

Comfort and connectivity: built-in Bluetooth speakers play your own music, and Bluetooth FTMS syncs to the SPIRIT+ app and wireless heart rate straps. A swivel-tilt tablet holder, USB charging port, cooling fan, and water bottle holder round out the console.

Oversized cushioned pedals with a 2 degree inward tilt and narrow 2.2 inch spacing keep your stride in a naturally correct line, reducing knee and ankle strain over longer sessions.

What reviewers say

Called Spirit's highest-end residential elliptical for a reason

With impressive specs and quality construction, Spirit's XE795 would be a great option for people looking for an easy to use elliptical that's built to last.

The Home Gym, Independent Elliptical Review

Corded ellipticals in this price range tie you to a fixed spot near an outlet and often stop at 20 to 24 resistance levels on a lighter flywheel. The XE795's self-generating power and 40 level range give you both placement freedom and a longer runway to progress, backed by a lifetime warranty on the frame and brake, rare even among premium brands.
