Spirit Fitness CSC900 Stairclimber

The real stairs problem

Most "stair" machines are really just two pedals. This one is an actual revolving staircase

A lot of stair-style cardio equipment, including compact home steppers, uses two independent pedals that move up and down in place. That's a fine workout, but it can't replicate the way your body actually moves on a real staircase.

The Spirit Fitness CSC900 Stairclimber runs on a continuous revolving step belt with an oversized 21.5 by 11 inch step surface, one of the largest in the industry, so the motion feels like climbing real stairs rather than pedaling in place.

That extra surface area also opens up training styles a pedal-based stepper simply can't accommodate, including side crossover steps, without sacrificing stability or safety.

Built for a commercial cardio floor

An industrial drivetrain built to run all day, every day

A 20:1 gearbox connected to a Prestolite alternator keeps the step motion smooth and consistent through 20 resistance levels and speeds up to 168 steps per minute, the kind of drivetrain built for constant club use rather than occasional home sessions. The multi-window blue LED console tracks:

On-handle resistance controls, integrated contact heart rate sensors, a 2 speed cooling fan, and a tablet holder round out a console built for serious, repeat use.

What reviewers say

Rated one of the largest step surfaces in the industry

Compact pedal-style steppers, including Spirit's own CS800, cost a fraction of the price and cover general low-impact cardio well. A true revolving stairclimber like the CSC900 is a different category of machine entirely, built with an industrial gearbox drivetrain rated for constant commercial use, not the intermittent demands of a home flywheel.
