Spirals Shandwick Stone Celtic Tattoo Design

The magnificent Clach a' Charridh Stone is a Class II Pictish stone located near Shandwick on the Tarbat peninsula. This pattern is adapted from an intricate carved circle of spirals on the landward side of the stone slab.The spiral is the signature decorative ornament used in Celtic art, and it was the special genius of the Celts to perfect the method of making 2, 3, or 4 coiled spirals.
