Description

Code #019 of the SNS Pro Pink Book: a tan. Every code in this book is sold four ways on one listing: the 1.5 oz pre-bonded dipping powder, the 0.5 oz GelStar gel, the gel and lacquer duo, or the 3-in-1 set with powder, gel and lacquer matched to one shade.

A nude like this is the workhorse of a color wall: full sets, French bases, and the client who wants her nails to look like her nails, only better. The Pink Book carries 18 nudes and browns, so compare the neighbours below to pick the undertone that suits the hand.

Why this powder

  • One code, three pieces. The powder, the gel and the lacquer of #019 are built to one shade, which SNS calls MasterMatch, so the hands and the toes match without a re-swatch.
  • Pre-bonded Gelous Color powder. The jar is our Nutri-Plus formula, and we formulate the base and the powder with vitamins and minerals, with vitamin E and calcium in the GelStar gel.
  • Dip or sculpt. The powder dips over base and sets with activator, and it also sculpts with monomer like an acrylic, so one jar covers both services.
  • Buy only what you use. The gel is sold alone, so a gel salon can carry the whole book without the powder.

How to apply #019

Start with a clean, dry plate: cuticles pushed back, nail shaped, shine buffed off, alcohol wipe. Then pick the service.

  1. Dip on the hands. Thin base, dip #019, tap, thin base, dip again. Activator, file, buff, activator again, top coat. Nothing to cure.
  2. Gel on the hands. Cure a thin gel base, cure two thin coats of the #019 GelStar, cure the gel top and wipe.
  3. Lacquer on the toes. Two coats of the #019 lacquer, left to air-dry.

To remove the dip or the gel, soak in acetone. Do not peel; it takes the top layer of the plate with it.

Three bottles finish the dip service, base, activator and top coat, all under Dip Essentials. If you run the GelStar as a gel service, the gel base and gel top are under Base & Top Gel.

Questions about #019

Is the swatch photo accurate?

It is the best online reference, but a screen is not a nail. For a color decision, match #019 against the physical Pink Book. Packaging styles vary by batch; the code and the shade are the same.

Do I need an activator with #019?

Yes. This is the standard SNS dip routine: base, powder, base, powder, then the Sealer Dry activator over the whole nail before you file, and a second coat before top coat. The activator is what sets the powder. The two no-activator books (Green and Yellow Green) skip it; the Pink Book does not.

Are the gel and the lacquer the same shade as the powder?

Yes, by design. The same number is printed on the jar, the gel and the lacquer because the three are matched to one color. Resins and pigment loads differ between a powder, a gel and a lacquer, so the match is engineered rather than automatic. Check it on the swatch photo or the physical book, not on a screen.

Color swatches vary with screens and lighting. For accuracy, match against the physical SNS Pink Book. Packaging styles may vary by batch.
