Description

Code #141 of the SNS Pro Burgundy Book: a silver glitter. Every code in this book is sold four ways on one listing: the 1.5 oz pre-bonded dipping powder, the 0.5 oz GelStar gel, the gel and lacquer duo, or the 3-in-1 set with powder, gel and lacquer matched to one shade.

One of the 15 glitter finishes in the Burgundy Book. The sparkle is in the powder, so it stays through the whole wear rather than sitting on top. It is most often used as an accent nail on a cream set, or as a full set for the holidays.

Why this powder

  • Hands and toes in one code. The gel and lacquer duo carries the same shade as the powder, so a client can wear #141 as dip on the hands and lacquer on the toes.
  • Nutri-Plus in the jar. We add vitamins and minerals to the base coat and the powder, and vitamin E and calcium to the GelStar gel.
  • Acrylic-ready. Sculpt the same powder with monomer when the client wants length rather than an overlay.
  • The cheapest way to own a code. The 0.5 oz GelStar gel is sold on its own.

Pick the format on the selector above; the price shown there is the same for every code in the Burgundy Book. If you only run gel, the GelStar alone is the smallest way in.

How to apply #141

Prep once: push back the cuticle, shape, buff the shine off the plate and wipe with alcohol. Then the service decides the piece.

  1. Dip. A thin coat of base, dip into #141, tap off the excess, repeat once. Activator over the whole nail, file and buff, a second coat of activator, then top coat. No lamp.
  2. Gel. Gel base, cured. Two thin coats of the #141 GelStar, cured after each. Gel top, cured, then wipe the tacky layer.
  3. Lacquer. Two coats of the #141 lacquer, air-dried. Top coat optional.

Removal for dip and gel is an acetone soak, never a peel.

Three bottles finish the dip service, base, activator and top coat, all under Dip Essentials. If you run the GelStar as a gel service, the gel base and gel top are under Base & Top Gel.

Questions about #141

Is #141 a glitter or a shimmer?

A glitter. The sparkle is in the powder, so it runs through the whole layer and does not wear off the surface the way a glitter top coat does. Many salons pair it with a cream from the same family as an accent nail.

Can I sculpt with the #141 powder?

Yes. It is a dip and acrylic powder: dip it over base for an overlay, or pick it up with monomer and sculpt it over a form like any acrylic. The same jar covers both services, which is why the format is named Dip/Acrylic.

How do I remove #141?

Acetone soak for the dip and the gel, ordinary remover for the lacquer. Wear is a few weeks for most clients, more or less depending on prep and what the hands do all day.
