Description

The pale gray at #121 in the SNS Pro Burgundy Book. Four ways to buy it on this one listing: the 1.5 oz Gelous Color dipping powder, the GelStar gel alone, the gel and lacquer duo, or the 3-in-1 set with all three. Same number, same shade, whichever you pick.

Grays are one of the smallest families in the Burgundy Book, so this one has few substitutes. It is a fall and winter shade for the client who wants something quiet but not nude.

Why this powder

  • One code, three pieces. The powder, the gel and the lacquer of #121 are built to one shade, which SNS calls MasterMatch, so the hands and the toes match without a re-swatch.
  • Pre-bonded Gelous Color powder. The jar is our Nutri-Plus formula, and we formulate the base and the powder with vitamins and minerals, with vitamin E and calcium in the GelStar gel.
  • Dip or sculpt. The powder dips over base and sets with activator, and it also sculpts with monomer like an acrylic, so one jar covers both services.
  • Buy only what you use. The gel is sold alone, so a gel salon can carry the whole book without the powder.

How to apply #121

Prep once: push back the cuticle, shape, buff the shine off the plate and wipe with alcohol. Then the service decides the piece.

  1. Dip. A thin coat of base, dip into #121, tap off the excess, repeat once. Activator over the whole nail, file and buff, a second coat of activator, then top coat. No lamp.
  2. Gel. Gel base, cured. Two thin coats of the #121 GelStar, cured after each. Gel top, cured, then wipe the tacky layer.
  3. Lacquer. Two coats of the #121 lacquer, air-dried. Top coat optional.

Removal for dip and gel is an acetone soak, never a peel.

The dip needs a base, an activator and a top coat: they are under Dip Essentials. Gel base and top for the GelStar are under Base & Top Gel.

Questions about #121

Can I buy #121 as part of a set?

Yes. It sits on board 4 of the Burgundy Book, codes #109 to #144, and the board is sold as one bundle in each format, 36 codes at a time. The full 144-code book is also sold as one bundle.

Can I sculpt with the #121 powder?

Yes. It is a dip and acrylic powder: dip it over base for an overlay, or pick it up with monomer and sculpt it over a form like any acrylic. The same jar covers both services, which is why the format is named Dip/Acrylic.

How do I remove #121?

Acetone soak for the dip and the gel, ordinary remover for the lacquer. Wear is a few weeks for most clients, more or less depending on prep and what the hands do all day.

Color swatches vary with screens and lighting. For accuracy, match against the physical SNS Burgundy Book. Packaging styles may vary by batch.
