Description
Blue Book #142 is a rust orange glitter, one of the 144 codes in the SNS Pro Blue Book. Pick the format on this listing: the Gelous Color dipping powder, the GelStar gel on its own, the gel and lacquer duo, or all three as a 3-in-1 set. The shade is the same in each.
This is one of 16 glitter codes in the Blue Book. Glitter dip shows the sparkle in the powder itself rather than in a top coat, so the shimmer runs through the whole layer and does not wear off the surface. Most techs use it as an accent nail or over a matching cream from the same family.
Why this powder
- Hands and toes in one code. The gel and lacquer duo carries the same shade as the powder, so a client can wear #142 as dip on the hands and lacquer on the toes.
- Nutri-Plus in the jar. We add vitamins and minerals to the base coat and the powder, and vitamin E and calcium to the GelStar gel.
- Acrylic-ready. Sculpt the same powder with monomer when the client wants length rather than an overlay.
- The cheapest way to own a code. The 0.5 oz GelStar gel is sold on its own.

How to apply #142
Start with a clean, dry plate: cuticles pushed back, nail shaped, shine buffed off, alcohol wipe. Then pick the service.
- Dip on the hands. Thin base, dip #142, tap, thin base, dip again. Activator, file, buff, activator again, top coat. Nothing to cure.
- Gel on the hands. Cure a thin gel base, cure two thin coats of the #142 GelStar, cure the gel top and wipe.
- Lacquer on the toes. Two coats of the #142 lacquer, left to air-dry.
To remove the dip or the gel, soak in acetone. Do not peel; it takes the top layer of the plate with it.
Three bottles finish the dip service, base, activator and top coat, all under Dip Essentials. If you run the GelStar as a gel service, the gel base and gel top are under Base & Top Gel.

Questions about #142
Is #142 a glitter or a shimmer?
A glitter. The sparkle is in the powder, so it runs through the whole layer and does not wear off the surface the way a glitter top coat does. Many salons pair it with a cream from the same family as an accent nail.
Will the gel and lacquer match the #142 powder?
That is what the code is for. We build all three pieces of #142 to one shade, which SNS calls MasterMatch, so the powder on the hands and the lacquer on the toes read as one color. Match against the physical Blue Book or the swatch photo above rather than a phone screen when the decision matters.
Is this a dip powder or an acrylic powder?
Both. Over base it works as a dip overlay; with monomer it sculpts like an acrylic. One jar of #142 does either job.
Color swatches vary with screens and lighting. For accuracy, match against the physical SNS Blue Book. Packaging styles may vary by batch.
