Description

Code #029 of the SNS Pro Blue Book: a teal. Every code in this book is sold four ways on one listing: the 1.5 oz pre-bonded dipping powder, the 0.5 oz GelStar gel, the gel and lacquer duo, or the 3-in-1 set with powder, gel and lacquer matched to one shade.

A teal sits between blue and green, and it suits warm and cool skin alike. It is a summer full-set shade and one of the 20 blues and teals in the Blue Book, so compare the neighbours below for a lighter or darker step.

Why this powder

  • Hands and toes in one code. The gel and lacquer duo carries the same shade as the powder, so a client can wear #029 as dip on the hands and lacquer on the toes.
  • Nutri-Plus in the jar. We add vitamins and minerals to the base coat and the powder, and vitamin E and calcium to the GelStar gel.
  • Acrylic-ready. Sculpt the same powder with monomer when the client wants length rather than an overlay.
  • The cheapest way to own a code. The 0.5 oz GelStar gel is sold on its own.

How to apply #029

Prep is the same for every format: push the cuticle back, shape, take the shine off the plate, wipe with alcohol.

  1. Dip. Two rounds of thin base and #029 powder, activator, file and buff, a second activator coat, top coat. No lamp.
  2. Gel. Gel base, two thin coats of the #029 GelStar and a gel top, each cured, then wipe the tacky layer.
  3. Lacquer. Two air-dried coats of the #029 lacquer for toes or touch-ups.

Both the dip and the gel come off with an acetone soak.

Pair the powder with base, activator and top coat from Dip Essentials, and the gel with a base and top from Base & Top Gel.

Questions about #029

Which board is #029 on?

Board 1, which runs #001 to #036. The board is sold as one bundle in the same formats as this listing, so it is a way to fill a quarter of a Blue Book wall in one order. The full book of 144 codes is sold the same way.

How do I remove #029?

Acetone soak for the dip and the gel, ordinary remover for the lacquer. Wear is a few weeks for most clients, more or less depending on prep and what the hands do all day.

Do I need an activator with #029?

Yes. This is the standard SNS dip routine: base, powder, base, powder, then the Sealer Dry activator over the whole nail before you file, and a second coat before top coat. The activator is what sets the powder. The two no-activator books (Green and Yellow Green) skip it; the Blue Book does not.

Color swatches vary with screens and lighting. For accuracy, match against the physical SNS Blue Book. Packaging styles may vary by batch.
