About This Style

Vintage rugs are defined by an aesthetic that evokes an antique or aged appearance, often showcasing faded tones and abrash-like colour variations. Distressed rugs undergo specific surface treatments—such as selective pile erasure or overdying—to mimic the natural wear of time, revealing a ghost-pattern of the original weave beneath. These pieces frequently reference the mid-20th-century Anatolian hand-weaving tradition, where motifs were crafted in small village workshops using regional techniques.

Where It Works

The flatwoven construction ensures this rug lies flush against the floor, making it suitable for high-traffic areas such as hallways, entryways, and living rooms. Its profile is ideal for underfloor heating and layering over larger carpets, providing a versatile solution for spaces requiring a durable, low-profile floor covering.
