Description
SkySail™ Yellow Yarrow (Achillea millefolium 'Bosachskyye') opens flat clusters of lemon yellow flowers from orange buds, then fades to soft butter cream as each head matures. This compact perennial grows about 14 inches tall and wide in bloom and is hardy in zones 3-9.
The color shift is what sets SkySail Yellow apart. Fresh orange buds, bright lemon blooms and creamy older heads all show on the same plant, which gives it a warm, layered look from early summer into early fall. Low mounds of ferny green foliage stay neat under the flowers.
Its short, tidy frame suits the front of a border, a rock garden, a dry slope or a patio pot. Pair it with blue salvia, catmint or purple coneflower for a sunny, high-contrast planting that bees and butterflies visit all summer.
- Hardy in zones 3-9
- Grows about 14 inches tall and wide in flower
- Blooms early summer into early fall
- Full sun and well-drained soil
- Drought and heat tolerant once established
- Deer and rabbit resistant
- Attracts bees and butterflies
Give it a sunny spot with soil that drains quickly. Yarrow prefers lean ground, so skip the compost and fertilizer, which only make the stems soft. Water through the first summer, then let it handle dry spells on its own. When the first round of flowers fades, cut those stems back to the side buds and the plant answers with another flush of yellow.
Order SkySail™ Yellow Yarrow and add steady, sunny color to your hottest garden beds.
