Description

SkySail™ Fire Yarrow (Achillea millefolium 'Bosachskyfi') carries wide, flat clusters of scarlet flowers over ferny green foliage from early summer into early fall. This compact perennial grows 14 to 24 inches tall and wide and is hardy in zones 3-9.

What sets SkySail Fire apart is its sturdy, upright frame. Many yarrows flop open by midsummer, but this one holds its flower heads high on strong stems. The scarlet blooms carry coral-pink overtones around gold centers, then soften toward orange-pink and cream as they age, so one plant shows several shades at once.

Plant it at the front of a sunny border, along a hot walkway or in a large patio container. It pairs well with ornamental grasses, salvia and coneflower, and the flat flower heads give bees and butterflies an easy landing spot from first bloom to last.

  • Hardy in zones 3-9
  • Grows 14 to 24 inches tall and wide
  • Blooms early summer into early fall
  • Full sun and well-drained soil
  • Drought, heat and humidity tolerant once established
  • Deer and rabbit resistant
  • Attracts bees and butterflies

Yarrow does best when you leave it a little hungry. Lean, well-drained soil keeps the stems strong, while rich soil and heavy feeding make them soft. Wet, heavy ground is the one condition it will not tolerate, so pick a spot that drains quickly after rain. After the first flush of bloom, cut the spent stems back to the side buds to push out a fresh round of flowers.

Order SkySail™ Fire Yarrow and bring long-lasting scarlet color to your sunniest, driest spots.
