Simuil - Vintage Distressed Rug - 6'11 X 10'4

This hand-woven, one-of-a-kind piece captures Anatolian heritage through a flatwoven construction, featuring a faded patina, abrash detail, and overdyed finish. Its low-pile, no-shed, high-traffic durable surface is layering-friendly and underfloor-heating safe, with a reversible weave, soft-touch distressed character, ghost-pattern, 70s craftsmanship, cotton-polyester blend, single-piece artisanal quality, and sun-bleached tones.

About This Style

Vintage rugs are designed to evoke an antique aesthetic, often featuring faded tones, abrash-like colour variation, or worn-look surface treatments. Distressed rugs utilise a specific treatment that mimics age and wear, such as selectively faded zones or erased pile areas that reveal the base structure. This often occurs through an overdyed process, where the original rug is submerged in a saturated colour bath, leaving ghost traces of the original pattern visible beneath the wash.

Where It Works

The flatwoven construction allows this rug to lie perfectly flat, making it suitable for high-traffic areas like hallways, entryways, and kitchens. It is compatible with underfloor heating systems and is ideal for layering over larger carpets.
