Sifaas - Vintage Distressed Rug - 5'8 X 8'11

This hand-woven, one-of-a-kind piece embodies Anatolian heritage through its flatwoven construction, faded patina, abrash detail, and overdyed finish. Featuring a low-pile, no-shed, high-traffic durable surface, it is layering-friendly, underfloor-heating safe, and offers a reversible weave, soft-touch distressed character, ghost-pattern, 70s craftsmanship, cotton-polyester blend, single-piece artisanal quality, and sun-bleached tones.

About This Style

Vintage rugs are designed to evoke an antique aesthetic, often featuring faded tones, abrash colour variation, and distressed surface treatments. Distressing mimics natural wear, frequently achieved through an overdyed process that leaves ghost-pattern traces of the original motif beneath the surface. Medallion rugs feature a central circular, oval, or diamond-shaped motif, serving as a hallmark of classical Anatolian design, often rendered in geometric forms and framed by a distinct border.

Where It Works

The flatwoven construction allows this rug to lie perfectly flat, making it suitable for high-traffic areas such as hallways, kitchens, and dining spaces. Its profile is ideal for layering over larger rugs or jute bases and is fully compatible with underfloor heating systems.
