About This Style

Vintage rugs are defined by an aesthetic that evokes the mid-20th-century Anatolian hand-weaving tradition, often characterised by regional motifs and historical craftsmanship. Distressed rugs utilise specific surface treatments to mimic age, including abrash colour variations and erased pile areas that reveal the base structure. Overdyeing processes further enhance this character, leaving ghost traces of original patterns beneath a saturated colour wash.

Where It Works

The flatwoven construction allows this rug to lie perfectly flat, making it suitable for high-traffic areas such as hallways, entryways, and kitchens. It is compatible with underfloor heating and functions effectively as a layering piece over larger carpets.
