About This Style

Vintage rugs are designed to evoke an antique aesthetic, often featuring faded tones, abrash-like colour variation, and worn-look surface treatments. Distressed rugs undergo a process where the surface is treated to mimic age, often revealing the base structure through erased pile areas. This aesthetic is frequently achieved through overdyeing, where original pieces are submerged in a saturated colour bath, leaving ghost traces of the original pattern visible beneath the wash.

Where It Works

Due to its flatwoven construction, this rug lies flat against the floor and is well-suited to high-traffic areas such as hallways, entryways, and kitchens. It is also compatible with underfloor heating and functions effectively as a layering piece over larger carpets.

Why Choose This Rug?

• — Features a distinct purple overdyed finish that highlights the underlying ghost-pattern and weathered aesthetic.
• — Constructed from a cotton and polyester blend, offering the breathability of cotton with the moisture resistance and durability of polyester.
• — The flatwoven, no-pile design is ideal for high-traffic environments and is fully reversible for extended wear.
• — These rugs reference the Anatolian hand-weaving tradition; each piece is one-of-a-kind, with minor variations in colour and pattern that are characteristic of vintage-style production.
• — Engineered for daily utility, the low-pile profile is layering-friendly and safe for use over underfloor heating systems.
