About This Style

Vintage rugs are designed to evoke an antique aesthetic, often featuring faded tones, abrash colour variation, and distressed surface treatments that mimic decades of use. These pieces frequently incorporate medallion motifs—dominant central designs that act as the anchor for the composition—alongside intricate floral patterns ranging from botanical vines to stylised blossoms. Produced in the tradition of mid-20th-century Anatolian hand-weaving, these rugs may feature overdyed finishes where the original motifs appear as a ghost-pattern beneath a saturated colour wash.

Where It Works

The flatweave construction makes this rug suitable for high-traffic areas such as hallways, entryways, and kitchens. It is also layering-friendly for use over larger carpets and is entirely safe for use with underfloor heating systems.
