About This Style

Vintage rugs are designed to evoke an antique aesthetic, often featuring faded tones, abrash colour variation, and distressed surface treatments. Medallion rugs are defined by a central circular, oval, or diamond-shaped motif that anchors the composition, a hallmark of classical Anatolian design. In vintage Turkish pieces, these motifs are typically rendered in geometric or stylised forms, often appearing as ghost-patterns beneath an overdyed wash that highlights the rug's original structure.

Where It Works

The flatwoven construction allows this rug to lie perfectly flat, making it suitable for high-traffic areas such as hallways, entryways, and kitchens. Its thin profile is ideal for layering over larger rugs or placing in spaces with underfloor heating.

Why Choose This Rug?

• — Features a prominent central medallion motif with a distressed, overdyed turquoise finish that reveals ghost-pattern details from its 70s craftsmanship.
• — Constructed from a cotton and polyester blend; cotton provides natural breathability, while polyester adds long-term durability and moisture resistance.
• — The no-pile, flatwoven construction ensures the rug lies flat against the floor and is resistant to shedding in busy environments.
• — These rugs reference the Anatolian hand-weaving tradition; each piece is one-of-a-kind, with minor variations in colour and pattern that are characteristic of vintage-style production.
• — Highly functional for high-traffic zones, this piece is compatible with underfloor heating and supports layering for added texture in various room configurations.
