About This Style

Vintage rugs are designed to evoke an antique or aged aesthetic, often featuring faded tones, abrash-like colour variation, or worn-look surface treatments. Distressing is a surface treatment that mimics natural age and wear, such as selectively faded zones or erased pile areas that reveal the base structure. In many cases, this involves an overdyed finish where a rug is submerged in a saturated colour bath, leaving ghost traces of the original pattern visible beneath the wash.

Where It Works

The flatwoven construction makes this rug suitable for high-traffic areas such as hallways, entryways, and kitchens. It is compatible with underfloor heating and is layering-friendly, allowing it to be placed over larger rugs or directly on hard flooring.

Why Choose This Rug?

• — Features a rich purple palette with a ghost-pattern visible through the overdyed finish, highlighting the distressed character of the piece.
• — Constructed from a cotton and polyester blend; cotton provides breathability, while polyester adds durability and moisture resistance for everyday use.
• — Utilises a flatwoven construction and no-pile design, allowing the rug to lie flat against the floor and remain easy to maintain.
• — These rugs reference the Anatolian hand-weaving tradition; each piece is one-of-a-kind, with minor variations in colour and pattern that are characteristic of vintage-style production.
• — Designed for high-traffic durability, this piece is fully reversible and safe for use over underfloor heating systems.
