About This Style

Vintage rugs are designed to evoke an antique aesthetic, often featuring faded tones, abrash colour variation, and distressed surface treatments. These pieces frequently incorporate a medallion—a dominant central motif—which serves as a hallmark of classical Anatolian design. Distressing often results from decades of use combined with modern overdying, a process where the original rug is submerged in a saturated colour bath, leaving ghost traces of the original pattern visible beneath the wash.

Where It Works

The flatwoven construction ensures the rug lies perfectly flat, making it suitable for high-traffic areas such as hallways, entryways, and kitchens. Its low-profile design is ideal for layering over larger carpets and is fully compatible with underfloor heating systems.
