Praufina - Vintage Floral Rug - 6'0 X 9'9

This hand-woven, one-of-a-kind rug celebrates Anatolian heritage through a flatwoven construction, featuring a faded patina with distinct abrash detail and an overdyed finish. This low-pile, no-shed, high-traffic durable, layering-friendly, underfloor-heating safe, reversible weave offers a soft-touch, distressed character with a ghost-pattern, 70s craftsmanship, cotton-polyester blend, single-piece artisanal quality, and sun-bleached tones.

About This Style

Vintage rugs are defined by their aged aesthetic, often featuring faded tones, abrash-like colour variation, or worn-look surface treatments that evoke the mid-20th-century Anatolian hand-weaving tradition. Floral vintage rugs utilise botanical motifs ranging from densely scrolled all-over fields to repeating rose-bouquet patterns, reflecting regional variations of Ottoman design. These pieces often undergo a distressed process, where original pile is selectively thinned and the rug is overdyed, leaving a ghost-pattern trace of the original motifs beneath the surface colour.

Where It Works

The flatweave construction allows this rug to lie completely level, making it ideal for high-traffic areas such as hallways, entryways, and kitchens. Its profile is compatible with underfloor heating systems and is suitable for layering over larger carpets.
