Plant Potomac Pawpaw with at least one other pawpaw variety nearby and design the space as a small native fruit grove, using a wide mulch ring beneath the trees and low woodland-style companions around the edges; this keeps the root zone protected, makes the planting feel finished, and gives pollination a better chance, because even a pawpaw with big-fruit energy still needs a good neighbor.
