About This Style

Vintage rugs are designed to evoke an antique aesthetic, often featuring faded tones, abrash-like colour variation, or worn-look surface treatments. Distressed vintage rugs utilise a surface treatment that mimics decades of use, often employing an overdyed process where the original piece is submerged in a saturated colour bath to reveal ghost traces of the original pattern. These pieces frequently reference the mid-20th-century Anatolian hand-weaving tradition, where items were produced in small village workshops using regional motifs.

Where It Works

The flatwoven construction allows this rug to lie completely flat, making it an ideal choice for high-traffic areas such as hallways, entryways, or kitchens. Its profile is layering-friendly for use over larger carpets and is entirely safe for spaces with underfloor heating.

Why Choose This Rug?

• — The flatwoven construction creates a no-pile surface that is easy to maintain, does not shed, and lies perfectly flat against the floor.
• — These rugs reference the Anatolian hand-weaving tradition; each piece is one-of-a-kind, with minor variations in colour and pattern that are characteristic of vintage-style production.
• — Engineered for high-traffic environments and compatible with underfloor-heating systems, this rug offers a versatile solution for any busy household area.
