Perfect for high-rise professional window cleaners, the Petzl RIG Descender delivers smooth control and safety in demanding environments. Clear rope guides and markings make setup quick, and the ergonomic handle offers a secure grip and precise descent control. The moving side plate can be opened while the device stays connected to your harness, making it easy to pass intermediate anchors. Its AUTO-LOCK system lets you position yourself at a workstation without needing to tie off or adjust the handle, and the handle automatically returns to a storage position when the rope is removed to help prevent accidental snagging.

The RIG offers two descent modes: over the side plate or through a V-shaped friction channel for added control and reduced rope kinking. It can be used from a harness or an anchor point, allows short ascents on the rope without engaging the handle, and supports lead belaying techniques commonly used in climbing. Built to last, it features reinforced protection on the rope friction zone and a redesigned cam that improves rope grip while limiting wear. A repairable black version is also available, with a replaceable cam and pin for long-term use in intensive work conditions.

Compatible with 9.5 to 11.5 mm ropes (approx. 3/8" to 7/16"), the RIG supports a working load limit of 140 kg (308 lbs) for one person and 200 kg (440 lbs) for two people in rescue situations. It is constructed from durable aluminum, stainless steel, and nylon, and is certified to multiple international safety standards.
