Pagiel - Vintage Distressed Rug - 5'4 X 8'10

This blue hand-woven, one-of-a-kind piece embodies Anatolian heritage through a flatwoven construction featuring a faded patina, abrash detail, and overdyed finish. With a low-pile, no-shed, high-traffic durable surface that is layering-friendly and underfloor-heating safe, this reversible weave offers a soft-touch, distressed character, ghost-pattern, 70s craftsmanship, cotton-polyester blend, single-piece artisanal quality, and sun-bleached tones.

About This Style

Vintage rugs are defined by an aged aesthetic, often featuring faded tones and abrash-like colour variation that references mid-20th-century Anatolian hand-weaving traditions. Distressed rugs utilise surface treatments to mimic natural wear, such as erased pile areas that expose the base structure. When a rug is overdyed, it is submerged in a saturated colour bath, which leaves a ghost-pattern of the original design visible. Medallion rugs are defined by a central circular, diamond, or oval motif, which acts as the anchor for the entire composition.

Where It Works

The flatweave construction makes this rug highly versatile for high-traffic areas such as hallways, entryways, and kitchens. It is compatible with underfloor heating systems and is thin enough to be used for layering over larger carpets.
