Pacific Fire Vine Maple shines in dappled light and part sun, especially where it gets gentle morning sun and protection from harsh afternoon heat. Plant in well-drained soil with consistent moisture, and add mulch to keep the root zone cool. Minimal pruning is needed, but you can lightly thin interior branches in late winter to highlight its graceful, multi-stem shape. Pair it with deep green evergreens, dark-leaved shrubs, or simple groundcovers to make the red new growth and fall color feel even brighter. Think of it as a living lantern for the garden.
