Description
A single material gets followed from start to finish in Demeter Oud rather than building a composition from several, agarwood, and then more agarwood, right through every stage. It opens sharp and resinous, the raw, slightly medicinal bite that real oud always has before it settles. Through the middle the wood turns earthier and rounder, warmth developing without any other note arriving to cause it. The dry down goes smooth and faintly sweet, the sharpness gone entirely, leaving something dark and balsamic close to the skin. Most oud fragrances surround the material with rose, saffron or leather to make it more approachable to a first time wearer. As a leather Cologne, Oud finds its natural home in edgy evening occasions. Oud is a fragrance that earns repeat wear.
