Organic Russian Red Garlic (lb)

Description
Richly colored and full of character, Organic Russian Red is a Rocambole hardneck with deep Pacific Northwest garden roots. Its bulbs open to a single ring of substantial burgundy-to-purple cloves, and its curling scapes add a fresh bonus before digging time.
Raw cloves bring warm spice and a lingering savory finish to pesto, salsa and ferments. Slow cooking rounds the heat into a beautifully full flavor for stews, tomato sauces, roasted vegetables and meats.
Plant in fall where winter cold and excellent drainage can work together. Cut the scapes while curled and harvest in late summer as several lower leaves brown.
