Organic Messidor Garlic (lb)

Organic Messidor brings the polished beauty of a French white garlic to mild-winter gardens. Vigorous plants make smooth, creamy bulbs with useful layered cloves, and the long flexible stems look lovely in a braid.

Its mild-to-medium flavor is wonderfully accommodating in vinaigrettes, herb sauces, grains and soups. Roast whole cloves for a soft, sweet result, or use them fresh when a dish calls for garlic without overwhelming sharper ingredients.

Plant in fall in full sun and loose, well-drained soil. As the foliage yellows around mid-summer, taper water and lift the bulbs before the wrappers deteriorate.
