About This Style

Vintage rugs are designed to evoke an antique aesthetic, often featuring faded tones, abrash-like colour variation, or worn-look surface treatments. Distressed rugs utilise specific surface treatments to mimic natural age, including selectively faded zones or erased pile areas that reveal the base structure. In many cases, this is achieved through an overdyed process where the original rug is submerged in a saturated colour bath, leaving ghost traces of the original pattern visible beneath the wash.

Where It Works

The flatwoven construction makes this rug suitable for high-traffic areas, including hallways, kitchens, and dining spaces. Its profile is layering-friendly and remains underfloor-heating safe, providing a versatile foundation for various interior environments.

Why Choose This Rug?

• — Features an authentic distressed character with a visible ghost-pattern and sun-bleached blue tones that reflect 70s craftsmanship.
• — Constructed from a cotton and polyester blend, where cotton provides natural breathability and polyester adds durability and moisture resistance.
• — Utilises a no-pile flatwoven construction that lies flat against the floor and is engineered for high-traffic durability.
• — These rugs reference the Anatolian hand-weaving tradition; each piece is one-of-a-kind, with minor variations in colour and pattern that are characteristic of vintage-style production.
• — Designed for practical daily use, the no-shed surface is easy to maintain and suitable for placement over underfloor heating systems.
