About This Style

Vintage rugs are designed to emulate antique aesthetics, often featuring faded tones, abrash colour variation, and worn-look surface treatments. Distressed vintage rugs undergo a process of controlled wear or intentional overdyeing, which creates a ghost-pattern effect where the original motif remains visible beneath a new saturated colour wash. Medallion rugs are defined by a central circular, oval, or diamond-shaped motif, a hallmark of classical Anatolian design that anchors the composition within a distinct border.

Where It Works

The flatweave construction allows this rug to lie perfectly flush against the floor, making it ideal for high-traffic areas such as hallways, kitchens, and entryways. Its thin profile is specifically suited for layering over larger carpets and provides efficient thermal conductivity for rooms with underfloor heating.
